Presented Concept Map
Our map of Delft is based on 'guiding with chaos'. In the concept-map simple houses are used to create a chaos. The guidance worked, but the map was not a 'total' picture.
Combining the chaos-effect with the enthusiasm for the 'where is Waldo' picture we decided to make a map of delft with influences of the 'where is Waldo' pictures. In this way a chaos is created and all different elements form a 'complete' picture; it is one world with the key-buildings as most important.
The idea: route of Delft with 'where is Waldo' influences.
Traced hand drawn sketch; the map of Delft.
Map of Delft, clockwise and counter clockwise.
The viewer is guided by 2 levels:
- Direction of the train at the bottom;
- Density of people at the left/right side of the map.
To emphasize on the different directions, two extra layers were add after this. In the final images guidance is realized on 4 different levels:
- Direction of the train;
- Density of people;
- Horizontal Blur of key-buildings, buildings and environment;
- Horizontal color-gradient (wit-transparent, opacity=20%).
Guidance on 4 levels.
